As I grew up, I've always had a passion for art and design. I majored in art during grammar school in Switzerland and wanted to pursue a career where I could let my creativity run free. Simultaneously, I've always had a passion for travelling. It didn't take long for me to realize that hospitality is the way to go to combine my two passions in a meaningful way. Thus I joined Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the leading hospitality management school in the world. My four-year bachelors degree was strongly marketing focused. I absolved an internship as regional marketing assistant for EHL Group in San Francisco and successfully administered consulting projects for Philip Morris International and Pestana Hotel Group, among others. I graduated with High Honors in February 2019.
Upon graduation I joined Marriott International in Munich as a Marketing Executive. I'm in charge of content marketing for five hotels (of four different brands) as well as three restaurants and three bars. My tasks include the development and fulfillment of the yearly content-led marketing plans as well as the establishment of activation plans and positioning for their (new) outlets. Further, implementing social media, loyalty and e-mail marketing strategies, as well as the content creation such as collateral design, photo shootings, video editing and copy writing are part of my everyday tasks. Finally the planning and execution of 360-degree brand activations, such as Munich Pride Week or World Running Day, complete my work tasks.
To further pursue my passion for travelling I've been managing my personal travel Instagram account @fortenado, featuring exciting destinations, as well as inspiring hotel and restaurant concepts.
